DC and Baltimore, January 2017

trip-a-month

We flew into town for the Women’s March on Washington. Over 20 of us.

My friend Gretchen who started this incredible org Good Support, organized accommodations, travel, back up plans in case it got sketchy…

But the march was anything but sketchy. It was affirming that we can join our voices together, that we have so much in common with so many strangers.

(5am bus to DC after 3 hours of sleep)

We decided to stay in Baltimore a few days after the March to see friends, and relax.

I booked us a really fun Airbnb in Fells Point.

Homeowners, Dolores and Vince are incredible characters, collectors, and staples in the Baltimore scene for over 40 years.

Their home is a dreamland of collectibles, Vince’s paintings, and ephemera from the sets of John Waters films….

You can find it here.

We ate at:

Clavel (amazing cocktails, Mexican fare.)

Dylan’s Oyster Cellar (Sunday nights $18 per dozen and So good)

Berthas Mussels (because, mussels at a dive bar)

And had tacos at Tortilleria Sinaloa. The lengua was incredible….

It was an exhilarating trip, and my thoughts are on where the world is headed. In the meantime, I’m home for a night before heading to Minneapolis…
